Welcome to Hope Beacon Hill, a local Christian fellowship in Upper Hutt, Wellington.

Hope Beacon Hill is a warm and welcoming church whānau in the Hutt Valley. Our heart is to rebuild, restore and repair lives through the love and hope of Jesus Christ.

Whether you are new to church, returning after some time away, looking for a church home, or simply exploring Christian faith, you are warmly welcome here.

We place a strong emphasis on Scripture, prayer, worship, discipleship and community. We believe this is a place where people can encounter God, grow in faith, be healed, build genuine relationships, and be strengthened to live with purpose in everyday life.

Our desire is to see people restored in Christ and their identity in Him, renewed in faith, and released to live out their God-given purpose in their homes, workplaces, families and across the motu.

Sunday church service

You are welcome to join us on Sunday mornings in Upper Hutt.

Morning tea begins at 10:00am, and our Sunday service usually starts around 10:20am.

Our gatherings are simple, relational and welcoming. We worship together, open the Bible, pray, encourage one another, and make space for the Holy Spirit and for people to respond.

What to expect

If you are visiting Hope Beacon Hill for the first time, you can expect a warm family atmosphere, worship, Bible teaching, prayer, allowing time for the Holy Spirit to move, encouragement, children’s programme, discussion and fellowship.

You do not need to have everything figured out before you come. Come as you are. There is room for you here.

A Church for families whānau children cultures and all generations

Hope Beacon Hill is an intergenerational, multi-ethnic fellowship with space for families, children, young people, adults, new believers, returning Christians, and anyone exploring faith.

Children are part of our church whānau. On Sundays, children begin in worship with the wider fellowship before moving into their age-appropriate children’s programme.

Prayer, Community and Discipleship

At HBH, prayer is central to who we are. We believe God restores lives, strengthens families, and brings hope to people in every season.

We value genuine community, where people can be known, encouraged and supported. We also believe discipleship is not only about what happens on Sunday, but how we follow Jesus in everyday life.

We hold our church prayer meeting every Tuesday evening at the building from 7:00pm – 8:00 pm.

Groups during the week

We have life groups throughout the week – but best you pop in on a Sunday as we provide regular updates what’s on every week.
